• Despite the population numbering only around 6 million, the Buginese are a very powerful people and they have heavily influenced the politics in the present day states of Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
  وعلى الرغم من عدد البوقسيين يبلغ فقط حوالي 6 مليون نسمة، الا انهم شعب قوي جدا ويؤثر بشكل كبير على الحياة السياسية في دول مثل ماليزيا وإندونيسيا وسنغافورة حتى يومنا هذا.
• Although many Buginese people live in the large port cities of Makassar and Parepare, the majority are farmers who grow wet rice on the lowland plains to the north and west of the town of Maros.
  يعيش الكثير من البوقس في المدن الساحلية الكبيرة مثل ماكاسار و باريباري، والغالبية العظمى هم من المزارعين الذين يزرعون الأرز الرطب في السهول المنخفضة في شمال وغرب بلدة ماروس.
