زيمبابوي العظمى

• The name "Zimbabwe" stems from a Shona term for Great Zimbabwe, an ancient ruined city in the country's south-east whose remains are now a protected site.
  يُستد اسم زيمبابوي الحالي على اسم قديم بلغة الشونا لمدينة خربة قديمة في زيمبابوي العظمى، وهي مدينة لا تزال موجودة كمحمية في جنوب شرق البلاد.
• According to Swahili traders whose accounts were recorded by the Portuguese historian João de Barros, Great Zimbabwe was an ancient capital city built of stones of marvellous size without the use of mortar.

  كانت مملكة مابونغوبو (1075-1220) دولة من الجنوب الافريقى قبل الاستعمار تقع عند ملتقى نهري شاشى و ليمبوبو الذى كان مركزا لمملكة ما قبل شونا التى سبقت تتويجا للحضارة الحضرية في جنوب شرق أفريقيا في زيمبابوي العظمى.
