• Benin is a member of the United Nations, the African Union, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, La Francophonie, the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, the African Petroleum Producers Association and the Niger Basin Authority.
  بنين عضو في الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي ومنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي ومنطقة السلام والتعاون جنوب الأطلسي والفرانكوفونية وتجمع دول الساحل والصحراء ورابطة منتجي النفط الأفارقة وسلطة حوض النيجر.
• As for foreign reactions, Mitterrand obtained the support of the United States and, as was made clear at the summit of the Francophonie held in Paris from February 17 to 19, of most of the African countries.

  استنادا على ميثاقها، يتحمل الفرنسيّيون مسؤولية القيام برئاسة الجامعة وذلك من خلال إشغال مناصب المدير والأمين العام فيها، خلافاً لِجامعة القاهرة ومعهد الفرانكوفونية للمعلوماتيّة في هانويْ اللتان تسمحان للفرنسيّين إشغال منصب نيابة إدارة الجامعة وحدها.
