كارل لين

• He was a student of Carl Linnaeus, and is considered one of the most important entomologists of the 18th century, having named nearly 10,000 species of animals, and established the basis for the modern insect classification.
  وكان طالباً عند العالم كارل لينيوس، ويعتبر واحدا من أهم علماء الحشرات من القرن الثامن عشر، وقد قام يوهن من تسمية ما يقرب من 10،000 نوع من الحيوانات، وأنشأ الأساس لعلم تصنيف الحشرات الحديث.
• Extending the use of the binomial system of nomenclature introduced by Carl Linnaeus in his Species plantarum (1753), the Dutch Christian Hendrik Persoon (1761–1836) established the first classification of mushrooms with such skill as to be considered a founder of modern mycology.
  وإمتدادا لنظام التسميات الثنائي الذي قدمه كارل لينيوس في أجناس البلانتورم (1753 م)، أسس الهولندي هاندريط بيرسون (1761-1836م) أول تصنيف للفطريات بمهارة شديدة ولذلك فهو يعد المؤسس لعلم الفطريات الحديث.
• In 1986, the zoo established the Carl H. Lindner Jr. Family Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife for the purpose of using science and technology to understand, preserve, and propagate endangered flora and fauna and facilitate the conservation of global biodiversity.
  عام1981 أنشأت حديقةالحيوان مركز حفظ وبحوث الحياه البريه المهدده بالإنقراض من قبل عائله كارل ليندنر الثاني لغرض استعمال العلم والتكنولوجيا لفهم والحفاظ على إنتشار النباتات والحيوانات المهدده بالإنقراض وتسهيل حفظ التنوع البيولوجي العالمي .
