• The city of Königsberg, Kingdom of Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia) is set on the Pregel River, and included two large islands which were connected to each other and the mainland by seven bridges.
  تقع مدينة كونيغسبيرغ في بروسيا (كالينينغراد، روسيا حالياً) على طرفي نهر بريغيل وضمت جزيرتين كبيرتين ترتبطان مع البر الرئيسي بواسطة سبعة جسور.
• From west to east, the country stretches from Kaliningrad (the exclave separated by the 1990 Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania from the then-Soviet Union) to Ratmanov Island (one of the Diomede Islands) in the Bering Strait.

• 2007 – due to the rate of satellite TV development in Russia as well as in view of the analogue-to-digital broadcasting switchover planned for 2015, was taken a decision on building a plant for manufacturing set-top boxes in Gusev town, Kaliningrad Region.
  نظرا لسرعة تطور القنوات التلفزيونية الفضائية في روسيا، والذي خطط له الانتقال عام 2015 إلى شكل البث الأرضي الرقمي، قد قرروا بناء مصنع لإنتاج قمة مجموعة مربعات الرقمية في غوسيف، كالينينغراد.
