• In 1925, de Bourgoing returned with her husband to France where they spent their time both in Paris and at their ancestral home, the Château de Thorey-Lyautey in the village of Thorey-Lyautey, of Lorraine.

• After her second marriage in 1909 with Hubert Lyautey, who would become the first resident-general in Morocco, de Bourgoing spent the rest of her life dividing her time between France and Morocco, establishing hospitals, maternity clinics and child care centres in both countries.

• Colonel Pierre Geoffroy, an associate of the Lyauteys, referred to her as a "great lady" whose little known contributions to humanitarian work are only now emerging, revealing her pioneering humanitarian and social work in "nursing without borders" at the beginning of the 20th century.
