استيلاد

• A progeny test is performed by mating the male with a number of females to produce many progenies in different environment and over a long time period involving different seasons to nullify the impact of season, management, environment in breeding value estimation.
  ويجري اختبار النسل عن طريق تزاوج ذكر مع عدد من الإناث لإنتاج عدة سلالات في بيئات مختلفة وعلى مدى فترة زمنية طويلة تشمل فصولاً مختلفة من العام لإبطال التأثير الذي قد تتركه فصول العام، والإدارة، والبيئة على تقييم قيمة الاستيلاد.
• The rice plants in the strain can be bred to other rice strains or cultivars, and if desirable plants are produced, these are further bred to stabilize the desirable traits; the stabilized plants that can be propagated and "come true" (remain identical to the parent plant) are given a cultivar name and released into production to be used by farmers.
