البطلان

• Before the Reformation, the extensive marriage bars for kinship meant that most noble marriages necessitated a papal dispensation, which could later be used as grounds for annulment if the marriage proved politically or personally inconvenient, although there was no divorce as such.
  قبل الاصلاح، كانت حانات الزواج واسعة النطاق لذوي القربى تعني أن معظم الزيجات النبيلة استدعت الإعفاء البابوي، والذي يمكن أن يستخدم لاحقا كسبب من أسباب البطلان إذا ثبت أن الزواج كان سياسيا أو شخصيا غير مريح، على الرغم من عدم وجود طلاقات على هذا النحو.
• Paragraph 376 – Any person who obtains a marriage certificate knowing it to be invalid for any reason in secular or canonical law and any person who issues such certificate knowing the marriage to be invalid is punishable by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 7 years or by detention.
  يعاقب بالسجن مدة لا تزيد على سبع سنوات او بالحبس كل من توصل إلى عقد زواج له مع علمه ببطلانه لاي سبب من اسباب البطلان شرعا او قانونا وكل من تولى اجراء هذا العقد مع علمه بسبب بطلان الزواج.
