  ولد أنكفاب في العاصمة الأبخازية سوخوم، تخرج بشهادة البكالوريوس في القانون من جامعة روستوف في جنوب روسيا، وعمل في وزارة العدل الأبخازية، ووزارة الداخلية في جمهورية جورجيا الاشتراكية السوفيتية حتى استقالته في عام 1990.

  عملت أيضًا بعدد من برامج الطهي الدبلوماسية، وعملت كمبعوث ثقافي عن وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية لجمهورية جورجيا في عام 2013م، وشغلت منصب مستشار الطعام للمجلس الأوروبي بين عامي 2002 إلى 2005م مع بعض المشاريع المطبخية الأخرى الخاصة بالاتحاد الأوروبي والوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية.
