• In 2005, along with the Società Dante Alighieri, the British Council, the Goethe-Institut, the Instituto Cervantes, and the Instituto Camões, the Alliance française was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award for outstanding achievements in communications and the humanities.

• Growing up, his imagination was caught by several writers, including Dante Alighieri, and by the study of foreign languages (especially English), as well as the landscapes of the Levante ("Eastern") Liguria, where he spent holidays with his family.
  وقد أسر خياله العديد من الأمور في سنين بلوغه، من الكتّاب كان الشاعر الإيطالي دانتي أليغييري، بالإضافة إلى دراسته للعديد من اللغات الأجنبية، والإنجليزية بشكل خاص، وكذلك كان تأثره بالمناظر الطبيعية في ليفانتي (شرق ليغويريا) حيث قضى أيام العطل مع عائلته.
• Italian poet Dante Alighieri (1265–1321), noted it in his famous work, the Divine Comedy, in which St. Thomas Aquinas cautions Dante upon meeting in Paradise, "opinion—hasty—often can incline to the wrong side, and then affection for one's own opinion binds, confines the mind".
  ذَكَرَها الشاعر الإيطالي دانتي أليغييري (1265- 1321) في كتابه الشهير الكوميديا الإلهية، حيث يقوم القديس توما الأكويني بتحذير دانتي عند لقائهما في الجنة، "الرأي- المتسرِّع- غالبًا ما يميل للجانب الخاطئ، ثم تقوم مشاعر الشخص نحو آرائه الخاصّة برَبط عقله وتقييده."
• Its linguistic and poetic heritage was later assimilated into the Florentine by Dante Alighieri, the father of modern Italian who, in his De vulgari eloquentia, claims that "In effect this vernacular seems to deserve a higher praise than the others, since all the poetry written by Italians can be called Sicilian".
