Following an agreement with the American University of Beirut (AUB) to establish Persian Language Studies there, he was sent by the Ministry of Education and Culture to Beirut to teach Persian Language and Literature and to continue his studies in Arabic Literature. وفي أعقاب اتفاقية مع الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت لتأسيس قسم للدراسات الفارسية فيها فقد أرسلته وزارة التعليم والثقافة إلى بيروت لتدريس اللغة والأدب الفارسي ولمتابعة دراساته في الأدب العربي.
After receiving his Medical Doctorate from the American University of Beirut in 1941, he opened up a hospital in his hometown of El-Mina in 1946 in partnership with Dr. Joseph Yamine and Dr. Richard Jebara, for a short period before moving to Saudi Arabia in 1949. بعد حصوله على درجة دكتور في الطب من الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت عام 1941 افتتح مستشفى في منطقته وبالاشتراك مع الدكتور جوزيف يامين والدكتور ريتشارد جبارة لمدة بسيطة قبل سفرة إلى السعودية عام 1949.
Ghandour grew up in Beirut, Lebanon where he spent most of his youth, he was admitted to IC, a private co-educational preparatory school to the American University of Beirut which he graduated from later with Aerospace engineering degree. he also went for further education at New York University - United States. نشأ غندور في بيروت، لبنان حيث قضى معظم شبابه، وقد تم قبوله في إيك، وهي مدرسة إعدادية مشتركة للتعليم الخاص تؤهل إلى الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت التي تخرج منها في وقت لاحق مع درجة هندسة الفضاء.
After graduating with a degree in civil engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1986, he left for the UK where he acquired Master's and PhD degrees in computational mechanics and mathematical modelling from the University of Southampton, and later, a Master's by research degree in environmental science from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris. بعد تخرجه بدرجة البكالوريوس في الهندسة المدنية من الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت عام 1986، غادر إلى المملكة المتحدة حيث حصل على درجة الماجستير والدكتوراه في الميكانيكا الحسابية والنمذجة الرياضية من جامعة ساوثهامبتون، وبعد ذلك حصل على درجة الماجستير في البحث العلمي والعلوم البيئية من المدرسة الوطنية بونتس إت تشوسيس في باريس.
