While some joined the Basij because of genuine religious convictions, others reportedly join Basij only to take advantage of the benefits of membership and to get admission to university or as a tool to get promotion in government jobs. في حين ينضمُ البعض إلى الباسيج بسببِ القناعات الدينية؛ هناك آخرون ينضمون لهذه القوّة للاستفادة من فوائد لا غير من خلال القبول في مجموعة منَ الجامعات أو كأداة للحصول على الترقية في الوظائف الحكومية.
