The surgery section was translated into Latin by Gerard of Cremona in the 12th century, and used in European medical schools for centuries, still being reprinted in the 1770s. وقد ترجم جيراردو الكريموني جزء الجراحة في الكتاب إلى اللاتينية، واستخدم من حينها في كليات الطب الأوروبية لقرون، وظلوا يصدرون منه الطبعات حتى نحو عام 1770.

Gerard of Cremona is the most important translator among the Toledo School of Translators who invigorated medieval Europe in the twelfth century by transmitting the Arab's and ancient Greek's knowledge in astronomy, medicine and other sciences, by making the knowledge available in the Latin language. يعد جيرارد الكريموني واحدا من أهم علماء مدرسة طليطلة للمترجمين التي أنعشت العلوم الأوروبية في العصور الوسطى في القرن الثاني عشر، عن طريق نقل المعرفة العربية واليونانية و اليهودية في علوم الفلك والطب وغيرها من العلوم، وجعلها متاحة لكل شخص يقرأ ويكتب في أوروبا.
