On March 17, 1948, the British abandoned the camp and the Etzioni Brigade of the Haganah used it as a base of operations during the 1948 Israeli War of Independence. في 17 مارس 1948 تخلى البريطانيون عن المعسكر واستخدمه لواء عتصيوني التابع للهاغاناه كقاعدة للعمليات خلال حرب 1948.

The majority of the inhabitants fled the village during January 1948, with the remaining population being transported into Jordan by the Haganah who entered the village on 19 April 1948. أما من تبقى من السكان، فقد جرى نقلهم إلى الأردن من قبل الهاغانا الذين دخلوا القرية في 17 أبريل 1948.

Allon joined Haganah in 1931 and went on to command a field unit and then a mobile patrol in northern Palestine during the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine. انضم آلون إلى الهاغانا في عام 1931، وانتقل إلى وحدة ميدانية ثم إلى دورية متنقلة في شمال فلسطين خلال الثورة العربية التي شهدتها فلسطين في الفترة من 1936 إلى 1939.
