The Liaison Office meets regularly to review implementation of the Agreed Principles for Rafah Crossing, to resolve any dispute pertaining to the agreement, and to perform other tasks specified therein. واجتمع مكتب الاتصال بانتظام لاستعراض تنفيذ المبادئ المتفق عليها لمعبر رفح، ولحل أي نزاع يتعلق بالاتفاق، وأداء مهام أخرى محددة فيه.
Following the Egyptian Revolution of 2011, Egypt for some time opened the Rafah border crossing permanently as of 28 May 2011. بعد الثورة المصرية عام 2011 قررت الحكومة المصرية فتح معبر رفح بشكل دائم ابتداء من السبت 28 مايو 2011 بعد إغلاق دام حوالي أربع سنوات من طرف النظام المصري السابق.

Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah had accused Egypt of being a partner to the killing of Palestinians there, saying if it did not open the Rafah crossing it would be considered a "partner in the killing of Palestinians by the IDF." اتهم الأمين العام لحزب الله حسن نصر الله مصر بأنها شريك لقتل الفلسطينيين هناك قائلا أنه إذا لم يفتح معبر رفح فان ذلك سيعتبر "شريكا في قتل الفلسطينيين على يد جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي".
