According to government sources, Tahrir al-Sham refused to surrender the area, while the Syrian government stated they were not willing to allow Tahrir al-Sham fighters to reconcile like other rebel groups in the area, but they were offering to deport their fighters to northern Syria. و قد رفض تحرير الشام تسليم المنطقة ، في حين أعلنت الحكومة السورية أن ها غير مستعدة ل السماح ل مقاتلي التحرير ب التصالح مع الجماعات المتمردة الأخرى في المنطقة ، و لكن هم عرضوا ترحيل مقاتلي هم إلى شمال سورية.
The statement also said that the Zenki movement planted IEDs and attempted to assassinate Tahrir Al-Sham members via this method, and that they are responsible for killing a Tahrir Al-Sham official named Abu Ayman Al-Masri after attacking a court house, a child, and a teacher from a religious college. كما جاء في البيان أن حركة زنكي قامت بزرع أجهزة متفجرة مرتجلة وحاولت اغتيال أعضاء في "تحرير الشام" باستخدام هذه الطريقة، وهي مسؤولة عن مقتل أحد مسؤولي تحرير الشام ويدعى أبو أيمن المصري بعد مهاجمة المحكمة وطفل ومعلم من كلية دينية.

Tahrir al-Sham released a statement condemning Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement and calling them 'aggressors' and liars about their willingness to resolve inter-rebel disputes in a Sharia court as well as calling them traitors, the statement also said this is part of a long series of conflicts with the Zenki movement and listed several incidents of times the Zenki movement acted against Tahrir Al-Sham. أصدرت تحرير الشام بياناً أدانت فيه حركة نور الدين الزنكي ووصفتها بـ "المعتدين" والكذابين على استعدادهم لحل نزاعات المتمردين في محكمة شرعية، إضافة إلى وصفهم بالخونة، وقال أيضا أن هذا جزء من سلسلة طويلة من الصراعات مع حركة الزنكي وقد أدرجت عدة حوادث من الأوقات التي عملت فيها حركة الزنكي ضد تحرير الشام.
