• Turkey also provides a special sort of "passport for foreigners" to citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), to enable them to travel freely, as this country is generally not recognized and the TRNC passports are not accepted as valid travel documents in some countries.
  وتقدم تركيا أيضا نوعا خاصا من "جواز سفر الأجانب" لمواطني الجمهورية التركية لشمال قبرص لتمكينهم من السفر بحرية حيث أن هذا البلد غير معترف به عموما ولا تقبل جوازات سفر جمهورية شمال قبرص التركية كوثائق سفر صالحة في بعض الدول.
• Following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, the Iraqi Turkmen wanted Turkey to annex the Mosul Vilayet and for them to become part of an expanded state; this is because, under the Ottoman monarchy, the Iraqi Turkmen enjoyed a relatively trouble-free existence as the administrative and business classes.
  وعقب إنشاء الجمهورية التركية في عام 1923، أراد تركمان العراق تركيا بضم ولاية الموصل وبالنسبة لهم لتصبح جزءا موسعا من الدولة التركية.هذا لأن في ظل النظام الحكم العثماني، تمتع تركمان العراق بحياة خالية من المتاعب نسبيا كما في الفئات الإدارية والأعمال.

  وفي الوقت نفسه أدى سقوط الدولة العثمانية ومحاولة قوات الحلفاء تقسيم الأناضول إلى مقاومة السكان الأتراك بقيادة الحركة التركية الوطنية التي تزعمها مصطفى كمال أتاتورك، فانتصر الأتراك ضد القوى الغازية في حرب الاستقلال التركية وتأسست الجمهورية التركية الحديثة سنة 1923.
