• A 1983 April Fools' Day edition of the Durand Express, a weekly newspaper in Durand, Michigan, reported that "dihydrogen oxide" had been found in the city's water pipes, and warned that it was fatal if inhaled, and could produce blistering vapors.
  في طبعة كذبة إبريل سنة 1983 في دوراند إكسبرس، وهي صحيفة أسبوعية في مدينة دوراند (ميشيغان)، نشر أنه تم إكتشاف وجود أول أُكسيد الهيدروجين في أنابيب المياه في المدينة، وتم التحذير من كون إستنشاقه قاتل، ويمكنه أن ينتج أبخرة حارقة.
• No Afghan government ever accepted the Durand Line which divided the ethnically Pashtun population into the North-West Province of India (modern north-western Pakistan) and Afghanistan, and it was the hope of Kabul that if Germany won the war, than all of the Pashtun people might be united into one realm.
