الباسيج

• Currently, the Basij serve as an auxiliary force engaged in activities such as internal security as well as law enforcement auxiliary, the providing of social service, organizing of public religious ceremonies, and as morality police and the suppression of dissident gatherings.
  تعمل حاليا الباسيج بمثابة قوة احتياطية حيث تنشط في أنشطة اعتيادية مثل الأمن الداخلي فضلا عن إنفاذ القانون وتوفير الخدمة الاجتماعية وتنظيم الاحتفالات الدينية العامة كما تُساعد الشرطة الإسلامية في قمع المعارضين والتجمعات المعارضة.

  بشكلٍ عام تعكسُ مُشاركة الباسيج في الحرب الأهلية السورية استخدام إيران لعددٍ من الميليشيات في مجموعة من دول منطقة الشرق الأوسط وذلك في مسعى منها لتأكيد الهيمنة الإيرانية في المنطقة وهذا ما يُخيف سليم إدريس قائد الجيش السوري الحر.
