  على سبيل المثال، داخل علم العنكبوتيات، فإن علم الحَلَم هو دراسة السوس والقرادات؛ وداخل علم الحشرات، فإن علم قشريات الجناح هو دراسة الفراشات والعُث وما إلى ذلك.
