The 2008 Law to Combat Trafficking in Persons prohibits all forms of trafficking in persons and prescribes penalties ranging from three to 15 years’ imprisonment, which are sufficiently stringent and commensurate with those prescribed for other serious crimes, such as rape. حظر قانون عام 2008 لمكافحة الاتجار بالأشخاص جميع أشكال الاتجار بالأشخاص وفرض عقوبات تتراوح ما بين السجن من 3 أعوام إلى 15 عام وهي تعتبر صارمة بما فيه الكفاية وتتناسب مع تلك المقررة لجرائم خطيرة أخرى مثل الاغتصاب.
The 2009 anti-human trafficking law prohibits all forms of sex and labor trafficking and prescribes penalties of six months’ to 10 years’ imprisonment for forced prostitution, child trafficking, and trafficking of women and girls; these penalties are sufficiently stringent, but not commensurate with those prescribed for other serious crimes, such as rape. ويحظر قانون مكافحة الاتجار بالبشر لعام 2009 جميع أشكال الجنس والاتجار في العمل وينص على عقوبات بالسجن لمدة تتراوح بين ستة أشهر وعشر سنوات بسبب الإكراه على البغاء والاتجار بالأطفال والاتجار بالنساء والفتيات؛ فإن هذه العقوبات صارمة بما فيه الكفاية، ولكنها لا تتناسب مع العقوبات المنصوص عليها في جرائم خطيرة أخرى، مثل الاغتصاب.
