• Most famous for the diamond mines around Kimberley, the Northern Cape also has a substantial agricultural area around the Orange River, including most of South Africa's sultana vineyards.
  تشتهر المنطقة بمناجم الألماس المنتشرة حول منطقة كيمبرلي، غير أن كيب الشمالية أيضاً لديها ثروة زراعية كبيرة حول نهر اورانج، وتضم أغلب مناطق جنوب أفريقيا المهيمنة بزراعة الكروم.
• As of 8 April 2010, the Ministry of Health South Africa had reported 87 human cases infected with Rift Valley fever (RVF), including two deaths in Free State, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape provinces.

• The Northern Cape is also the home of over 1,000 San who immigrated from Namibia following the independence of the country; they had served as trackers and scouts for the South African Defence Force during the South African Border War, and feared reprisals from their former foes.
  كذلك تعتبر كيب الشمالية موطنا لأكثر من 1000 من أفراد قبيلة البوشمن الذين هاجروا من ناميبيا بعد استقلال الدولة في عام 1990م ، فخدموا حكومة جنوب إفريقيا خلال الحرب كمقتفي اثر ومستكشفين خشية إنتقامهم من خصومهم السابقين.
