• The earliest known example of a blood libel is from a certain Democritus (not the philosopher) only mentioned by the Suda, who alleged that "every seven years the Jews captured a stranger, brought him to the temple in Jerusalem, and sacrificed him, cutting his flesh into bits."
  صدرت أولى أمثلة فريد الدم عن شخص يدعى ديموقريطوس (ليس الفيلسوف)، لم يُذكر سوى في موسوعة سودا، وقد زعم أنه «كل سبع سنوات يقبض اليهود على شخص غريب، ويحضرونه إلى معبد القدس، ويضحون به، ويقطعون لحمه إلى فتات».
