• During the cold war, the Royal Norwegian Navy was optimized for sea denial in coastal waters, in order to make an invasion from the sea as difficult and costly as possible.

• The King is also High Protector of the Church of Norway (the state church), Grand Master of The Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav, and symbolically Supreme Commander of the Norwegian armed forces.

• On 22 June 2014, the Sahara Forest Project signed an agreement with The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Amman for establishing a Sahara Forest Project Launch Station and related activities in Jordan.
  وفي 22 يونيو 2014 وَقّع مشروع غابة الصحراء اتفاقية مع السفارة الملكية النرويجية في عمان لإنشاء محطة إطلاق مشروع غابة الصحراء والأنشطة ذات الصلة في الأردن.
• On June 7, 1940, thirteen vessels, five aircraft and 500 men from the Royal Norwegian Navy followed the King to the United Kingdom and continued the fight from bases there until the war ended.
  يوم 7 يونيو 1940 بعد 13 سفينة، خمس طائرات و500 رجل من القوات البحرية الملكية النرويجية الملك إلى المملكة المتحدة واصلت الكفاح من قواعد لها هناك حتى انتهت الحرب.
