  نجحت جمهورية الصين الشعبية في القضاء على مرض الطاعون الرئوى من كل أجزاء الدولة , ولكن هناك تقارير تصل عن حالات فردية مصابة في المناطق الغربية النائية حيث ينقل المرض عن طريق الجرذان و حيوان المرموط والتى تعيش عبر هضبة التبت.
