  يزعم العديد من فلاسفة العقل المعاصرين أنّ تلك البديهيات مضلّلة، وأنّه يجب استخدام الملكات النقدية، بجانب البراهين المثبتة من العلوم لكي ندرس تلك الافتراضات ونقرّر إن كان لها أساس حقيقي أم لا.
