• Today, many amateur experiments in the field have been conducted using Tesla turbines which use compressed air, steam as its power source (the steam being generated with heat from fuel combustion, from a vehicle's turbocharger or from solar radiation).

• Climate modelers speculatively suggest that this reduction in solar radiation at the surface may have led to the failure of the monsoon in sub-Saharan Africa during the 1970s and 1980s, together with the associated famines such as the Sahel drought, caused by Northern hemisphere pollution cooling the Atlantic.
  فتخمن نماذج المناخ الافتراضية بإن انخفاض نسبة الإشعاع الشمسي أدى إلى إضعاف الرياح الموسمية في صحراء أفريقيا في الفترة ما بين عامي 1970 و1980، إضافة إلى ارتباط هذه الظاهرة مع المجاعات والتي سببها التلوث الكبير في النصف الشمالي للكرة الأرضية مما برّد المحيط الأطلسي.
