الغفل

  وذكر فريق التحقيق أنه وجد "درجة مؤلمة من الغفلة وعدم الانتباه، فيما بين العديد من كبار قادة الجيش في وزارة الدفاع وبين القادة المدنيين، إلى دور الأسلحة النووية في الردع."

  الكورتيكوستيرويد الموضعي هو العلاج الأكثر نجاعة عند استخدامه باستمرار لمدة 8 أسابيع؛ أما الرتينويدات وقطران الفحم فقد وجدت أنها ذات فائدة محدودة وربما ليست أفضل من الغفل (العلاج الوهمي).

  إلا أن البيانات الناشئة عن تجربة كبيرة متعددة المراكز، مزدوجة التعمية، باستخدام الغفل تشير إلى ان استخدام حامض الايكوسابنتانويك وحده ليس ناجحًا في علاج فقدان الوزن في المرضى الذين يعانون من مراحل متقدمة من سرطان القناة الهضمية أو الرئة.

  ويشير هيمان جروس إلى أنه من دون الخصوصية (العزلة، الغفلية، التحرر المؤقت من الأدوار الاجتماعية) لن يكون باستطاعة الأفراد التعبير بحرية عن أنفسهم و الخوض في اكتشاف الذات ونقدها، لأن اكتشاف الذات ونقد الذات يساهم في فهم المرء لنفسه ويشكل حس الفرد بالهوية .

  وفي حالة تقدم مثل هؤلاء الأطفال نحو البلوغ من دون تشخيص أو من دون علاج، فان هذه الغفلة والاحباطات المستمرة وضعف الصورة الذاتية قد تخلق لهم في كثير من الأحيان مشاكل حادة عديدة تعيقهم عن الحصول تكوين علاقات صحية، وعن النجاح في الدراسة ما بعد الثانوية، أو النجاح في مكان العمل.

  في 30 آب عام 2007 ,استنتجت لجنة المشورة في إدارة الغذاء والدواء ان استخدام روسيغليتازون لعلاج النوع الثاني من السكري كان مرتبطاً بزيادة خطر الاصابة احداث اقفار عضلة القلب عند مقارنتها بالعلاج المموه (الغفل ) لكنه لا يوجد زيادة خطر عند مقارنتها بأدوية السكري الاخرى.

  وجدت مقالة مراجعة علمية نشرت سنة 2014 دراستين أشارتا أن عقار أريبيبرازول كان فعّالاً على المدى القصير، كما أبرزت وجود أثر ضئيل لعقار ريسبيريدون وللمضادات غير النمطية للذهان عموماً على المدى القصير، في حين أنّها لم تجد أي أثر لعقار كويتيابين أو أولانزابين بالمقارنة مع الغفل.
