Hydroxocobalamin has an avid affinity for cyanide ions and has been used as an antidote to cyanide poisoning. يمتلك هيدروكسيوكوالامين على جاذبية عالية لأيونات السيانيد وقد استخدم كمضاد للتسمم بالسيانيد.
