As Khem or Min, he was the god of reproduction; as Khnum, he was the creator of all things, "the maker of gods and men". والرب خنوم كان مسئولا عن خلق البشر ومعهم أرواحهم الحارسة "الكا".
It was this association with water, i.e. the Nile, that led to her sometimes being considered the wife of Khnum, and associated with the source of the River Nile. وكان هذا الارتباط مع الماء، أي النيل، أدى إلى اعتبارها أحيانا زوجة للإله خنوم ، و ربطها بمنابع نهر النيل.
